Is the God You Believe In the Same God As In the Bible? Do You Believe Because You Learned It, Or, Because You Were Told It Was True? by Rev. Juan M. Pérez.
Ask almost anyone, “Is the God you believe in the same God as in the Bible?” and they will say yes. But just because they say yes doesn’t mean it’s true.
In this short, practical book, Rev. Juan M. Pérez offers a simple test: make a list of the things you believe are true about God, then go to the Bible and compare. Drawing on biblical models of active learning, he shows the cost of passive belief, why so many of us prefer to be told what to believe, and what true adaptation to God’s Word looks like.
With practical tools for learning what to believe, guidance for leading others, discussion and reflection questions, and a recommended Bible study plan, this book is not meant to make you feel guilty for not being an expert in theology. The goal is to help you compare what you believe about God with what the Bible really says.
