Our Purpose
New Life Outreach of Dallas exists for one reason that refuses to stay small: to reach souls for the Lord. Everything else—counseling, teaching, training, discipleship, and the work that happens online—grows out of that single aim. We are a church incorporated in Texas, rooted in Dallas (75211), and committed to walking with people who want more than religious activity. We want lives actually changed.
Vision
The writer of Proverbs said that where there is no vision, people perish—the word carries the sense of chaos and disorder. A fellowship can have a statement on the wall and still lose its way if it never agrees on how to get there. Our 2021 vision statement keeps the destination and the path together: reach souls first; then keep building a body of people who tithe, serve, learn, and go; continue the counseling work; develop an internet-based ministry that can travel farther than any single building; offer real discipleship to those who want it; and maintain a healthy preaching, teaching, and training ministry. That is not a slogan. It is the work we keep doing.
New Life Christian Counseling Ministry
New Life Christian Counseling Ministry is the practical arm of that vision. It is not a boutique practice for people who already have everything figured out. It is a ministry that sits with individuals and couples who are tired of repeating the same patterns and ready to find out why. We counsel in person across the Dallas–Fort Worth area and by Zoom for those farther away. Sessions typically last one to two hours. The requested fee is $20. If someone cannot pay, we work with them—sometimes that means no charge at all. We have not made a habit of turning away people who genuinely want help. Over more than three decades, that has included people of every race, income level, and life circumstance.
Belief Therapy
The approach is called Belief Therapy, and it is simple enough to say out loud: people do what they do because they believe what they believe. Painful patterns, destructive relationships, and stuck places are rarely just “behavior problems.” They are almost always belief problems. The work is to help a person or a couple name the lies that have been running the show, then replace those lies with truth that can actually heal. It is direct. It is biblical. It is not therapy that nods politely while the same wounds keep bleeding. It is counseling that expects change because the Word of God is living and active.
Training and Equipping
The same ministry trains people in local churches who want to counsel better, helps congregations with practical and official matters, and holds seminars and special events so the work does not stay locked inside one office. The goal is not to collect clients. The goal is to equip people and churches so that more lives are reached.
Pastor Juan M. Pérez
Pastor Juan M. Pérez is the pastor of New Life Outreach of Dallas and the lead counselor of New Life Christian Counseling Ministry. He has spent more than thirty-five years sitting with couples and individuals—hundreds of people, thousands of hours. He is a husband, a father, and a grandfather. He is also a Bible teacher, a preacher, and the author of more than seventy books, most of them written for the same people he counsels: pastors who need a usable manual, counselors who need practical tools, believers who need to know what sin actually is, how forgiveness really works, how the mind of Christ is formed, and how a person stops living by the old lies. He writes the way he counsels—plain, scriptural, and unwilling to leave the reader with a nice feeling and no next step.

He did not arrive at this work from a distance. Public accounts of his life describe a man who came out of a dysfunctional family and had to face anger, bitterness, and addiction before he could stand with others in theirs. That history is not the point of the ministry, but it helps explain why the counseling is not theoretical. He knows what it costs to keep believing something that is destroying a person, and he knows what it costs to tell the truth instead.
Our Team
He serves alongside his wife, Lydia, and a trusted assistant, Greg Gutierrez. Together they counsel, speak in churches, conduct training, and keep the doors open for people who cannot afford the usual price of help. The work is supported by the generosity of those who believe the same vision: souls first, then the long, patient labor of making disciples and healing what is broken.
An Invitation
New Life Outreach of Dallas and New Life Christian Counseling Ministry are not trying to be everything to everyone. We are trying to be faithful to our Vision and Mission and useful to the people God sends. Come as you are. Bring the marriage that is tired, the mind that will not quiet, the questions you have been afraid to ask out loud. We will open the Word, name what is true, and walk with you from there.
